Springfield, Illinois - The Orthopedic Center of Illinois Foundation (OCIF) today announced plans for the 7th Annual OCIF Open: Chip in fore Charity! One non-profit organization in the central Illinois community will receive a $20,000 grant as the benefactor of the annual golf outing being held on September 27 at Panther Creek Country Club.
Organizations can review the Foundation’s guidelines and obtain an application by visiting the OCIF website at www.ocif.net. “The Foundation has no restrictions on the type of support it will consider so long as the organization’s work is consistent with the Foundation’s programs of interest and serves the central Illinois community,” said Dr. Tim VanFleet, OCIF Board Member.
OCIF was formed, among other things, to support projects promoting patient education, continuing medical education, and regional charitable organizations. Since the inaugural event in 2004, OCIF has granted over $100,000 to local charities. Past benefactors of the outing include: Central Illinois Foodbank (2004), Boys and Girls Club of Springfield (2005), Contact Ministries (2006), Southwind Park (2007), Big Brothers Big Sisters (2008) and the Sangamon County Child Advocacy Center (2009).
Completed applications must be submitted by July 16th. The benefactor will be announced on or before August 13.
